About Lab Management

Welcome to CISST ERC Lab Manager Resources Online. This web site is intended to curate the information necessary to perform the duties of lab manager. The job is one of great responsibility and opportunity, and we hope that you find it both challenging and rewarding.

The training materials assembled here include but are not limited to the general description of lab management duties, specific responsibilities, frequently asked questions, task scenarios, and a critical contact list of CISST ERC members who are qualified to provide guidance and assistance to the new lab manager.

You will also find a complete directory of the documents that comprise policy and protocol for lab activities and regular maintenance of the facilities at Homewood Campus. These include both descriptive documents that outline policy and procedure, while others are forms that serve as records for transactions and information management. As lab manager you are responsible for all these documents, whether in the case of an audit of CISST ERC records or the existence of specific policy for various activities that occur regularly on the lab premises.

The format of this web site seeks to ensure that all the materials requisite to your successful tenure as lab manager are clearly stated and provided. Should you need additional assistance, consultation, or referral do not hesitate to contact CISST faculty, staff, or administration to receive confirmation or support. If ever in doubt of proper recourse, the former lab manager is available to answer any questions you may have.
