Abstract
This talk will discuss Immersion Medical and the work done by this company, focusing on simulator development, applications, and marketing. Immersion Medical is a world leader in surgical and medical simulation systems. Their AccuTouch® medical simulator product line consists of five simulator platforms: Endoscopy, Endovascular, Hysteroscopy, Laparoscopy, and Vascular access. These simulators provide numerous benefits, illustrated in clinical validation studies on medical simulation and in customer case studies about their real-world use.

Bio
Rob Cohen is currently the Director of Business Development at Immersion Medical. He earned is Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Maryland in College Park, both in Aerospace Engineering. And then went on to complete an M.B.A. from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, also from the University of Maryland in College Park.
He began his career building robots for use underwater to simulate the environment of space and study space operations. That simulation experience combined with broad interdisciplinary training transferred well to medical procedure simulation.
Rob started working with Immersion Medical (formerly HT Medical Systems) in 1996 as a consultant and then a full time employee in 1999. While at Immersion Medical, he has designed and developed numerous simulators that are in production today and in use improving medical outcomes around the world.
