Description
Please share any information on video editing software and/or digital video format converters.
- MovieMaker - decent for quick edits, saves wmv file only.
- VirtualDub - freeware utility for simple edits and (re)compression (Win32)
- Bink and Smacker - converts many formats
- planetdvb.net - converts to h.264 which is mac compatible I think.
- ImageToAVI - freeware utility to compile image sequences to AVI files (Win32)
- Lagarith codec - high speed lossless RGB and YUV codec (3x-5x compression) (Win32)
- Power Point is tricky, and videos using mpeg1(avi) codec should work on win/mac (sometimes this does not work well if the videos are on the network, might need a restart or log in and out. restarting PPT does not solve the problem. It looks like ppt gets confused if the video it is looking for was originally on the network, or it was inserted while the PPT was being edited from a networked drive, eg stomach)
- all of the above might work better with a codec pack ( it solved some problems for me in PPT videos): http://www.codecguide.com/ K-Lite Codec Package should work fine
Others???
compress using divx, which should work on most machines.
StaxRip_1.0.0.1 - has many of the features required for the conversions.
